As we have used these past couple of episodes and now this one to discuss the transition between this present age and the age to come we are being governed by the idea that We must be firmly grounded in the Scripture and understand our role now!

We saw first that 1) All that leads up to the vision from the throne room is the present day. This is where the discussion of Matthew 24 and the book of Amos fit. And, to finish out that discussion, we spend the first part of this episode examining Romans 9-11 and showing that there is a difference between the Church and Israel.

Then, we see 2) All that follows is future.

a) The future is seen from heaven.

b) The future is declared by Christ.

c) The future is future.

Today, we continue to discuss the transition from Rev. 1-3 and Rev. 4ff. Knowing that what lies ahead is the articulation of the Day of the Lord, we go back to the book of Amos to see what God has to say to the nation of Israel about the Day of the Lord.

We learn two important ideas in this quick survey of the book of Amos:

1) Pride and Ignorance Lead to judgment.

2) God is faithful to his covenant with his people, Israel.

In this episode we end up taking a little break in the text of Scripture as we conclude the letters to the churches. Here we use this time to work through three distinct periods of tribulation that we find in the NT, using Matthew 24 to guide a large part of the discussion.

3) Tribulation for Israel and the rest of the unbelieving world
