The idea of 2 Peter 3:11-13 is "The Patience of Faith." In this section we learn that We must have patient faith!

This section from 2 Peter 3:8-10 deals with the idea of "Trusting in the Absence of a Sign." In this section we ought to be governed by the idea that We must trust in the nature of God as we live in a world without signs!

In v. 8 we learn that 1) God has a different perspective on time.

In v. 9 we learn that 2) God is infinitely patient.

Now, in v. 10 we learn that 3) God's judgment is punctual.

In verses 3-7 we see that 3) CONFIDENCE LOOKS TO THE MASTER.

We examined the first aspect of this in verse three, where we noted that a) False teachers do not believe the God's Word.

The second aspect is found in vv. 4-6 where we note that b) False teachers base their claims on their immediate circumstances.

The third aspect is found in v. 7 where we see that c) False teachers deny God's Word for the future.

We begin a new section today that spans 2 Peter 3:1-7. In it we are governed by the idea that We must have confidence in God’s Word no matter what people say!

Verses 17-22 comprise the last section of chapter two, and in it we see that False teachers are a danger to others and to themselves!

The first way that we saw this is found in the first part of verse 17 where we learn that 1) FALSE TEACHERS HAVE A DECEPTIVE LOOK.

In verse 18 we learn that 2) FALSE TEACHERS APPEAL TO THOSE ON THE FRINGE.

Then, in verse 19 we learn that 3) FALSE TEACHERS ARE HYPOCRITICAL.

Finally, in verse 17b, and verses 20-22 we see that 4) FALSE TEACHERS WALK A NATURAL PATH THAT LEADS TO DESTRUCTION.
