On Exposure, we delve into the topic of gender. Abbie Newton interviews various people in the community about gender as it is defined today. Michigan State University Professor in Communications Kelly Morrison and Psychology Professor NiCole Buchanan join the conversation to discuss gender as it is associated with identity, expression, science and social construction. Dr. Kelly Morrison's son, Kyle, also joins the show to add to the conversation.

People usually go sky-diving to experience the thrill and cross it off the bucket list. But, in 2001 a woman named Kelly Greene used skydiving as a tool to empower and overcome her past. She was sexually assaulted, but instead of fearing the anniversary of the assault, she decided to overcome another fear of hers: heights. Now, Michigan State University’s Sexual Assault Intervention Team is joining the initiative. Volunteers are raising money and some will even be jumping from an airplane. Michigan State University student Madeline Valentine has decided to bike across the country this summer. She will be participating in a ride with Bike & Build, which is an organization that uses biking as a way to fund and assist affordable housing efforts. Every once in a while, you come across a unique performer, comedian or musician. That is exactly what happened to when Exposure Director Abbie Newton found Riders in the Sky, a western cowboy quartet. She sat down with Ranger Doug to talk about western music, comedy and yodeling.

MSU senior Logan Stark is not your typical student. He served as a Marine Sniper in 3 deployments, one of which was in Afghanistan. Since his return he has taken up biking as a way to mentally and physically heal from the war. In doing so, he discovered a way he could help fellow veterans rehabilitate through a program called Ride to Recovery. Exposure host Abbie Newton spoke with him about the project and its potential impact.
