Michigan State University President Lou Anna K. Simon released her annual report a couple weeks ago. Last year, the report was called Spartans Will 360 and it showcased the work MSU professors and faculty were doing around the world. This year, the report was called Inside Out. It showcased the lives of 9 Michigan State students. A production team followed the students around for a full year as we began to understand what a Spartan life looks like. Three of these students and one student producer came on Exposure to talk about the experience.

MSU Graduate Student Stefan Fletcher is stepping down after four terms as the Council of Graduate Students President. Exposure host Abbie Newton has him, newly elected COGS President Emily Bank and COGS former President and now Director of Student Health Education at Olin Health Center, Dennis Martell, in the studio to talk about graduate student government, policy and the future.

In lieu of Mental Health Awareness Week on Michigan State's campus, Host Abbie Newton delves into the topic of mental health. She speaks with Director of Student Health Education at Olin Health Center Dennis Martell about the prevalence of mental health illnesses on campus. She also has several students share personal stories about mental health. Among them, Jill Passanante, Zach DeRade, Marisa Martini and James Conwell.

Zines are making their way into our current culture. Earlier this year, there was an event called “Print Party; Celebrating Queer Feminism Through Zines” in Lansing, that aimed it's focus on people that do not identify as a cisgender male. Reporter Gabriela Saldivia has more.

Feminism is something that should be accessible to all people. But sometimes, a mainstream movement excludes certain groups of people. Impact reporter Meg Abebe explored the idea of intersectionality within feminism for Impact's gender episode of Exposure.

On Exposure, we delve into the topic of gender. Abbie Newton interviews various people in the community about gender as it is defined today. Michigan State University Professor in Communications Kelly Morrison and Psychology Professor NiCole Buchanan join the conversation to discuss gender as it is associated with identity, expression, science and social construction. Dr. Kelly Morrison's son, Kyle, also joins the show to add to the conversation.

People usually go sky-diving to experience the thrill and cross it off the bucket list. But, in 2001 a woman named Kelly Greene used skydiving as a tool to empower and overcome her past. She was sexually assaulted, but instead of fearing the anniversary of the assault, she decided to overcome another fear of hers: heights. Now, Michigan State University’s Sexual Assault Intervention Team is joining the initiative. Volunteers are raising money and some will even be jumping from an airplane.
