Extra Noir Podcast

Back to basics with some 80s European synth jams, nestling cosily with American no wave and Japanese post-punk. The pleasure of writing sentences like that is why we made this show. Expect tracks from Naum Gabo, Factrix, Jill Krosen, Sequencer People, Carl Matthews, The PTA's, Ike Yard and more.

Going for more of an 80s psychedelia theme with this episode, though there's plenty of good contemporary stuff, including some choice tracks from Korean artists HWI, Xiami and THSS. We can't get enough of Glasgow psychelicists Happy Meals, who close tonight's episode with a killer from their Full Ashram Devotional Ceremony on Optimo's So Low imprint.

Given that almost any random Extra Noir episode could double as a Halloween special, we decided to eschew the John Carpenter, horror disco and synth arpeggios for something a bit different. Enjoy!

Another silky blend of bleeding edge and vintage. In this episode we serve up some new tracks from Susana, Circa Tapes and Total Leatherette, with dusty analog electronics handled by Los Microwaves, Faction, Adinda and Robert, Der Plan and various other ghosts of the 1980s.

We're finally back after a long break. We collected some good tunes in our absence, including a couple of new, unreleased tracks by Kübler-Ross and Aadm Our Hatley. We've also got selections from the new Tengger and Cru Servers albums . But for all this newness, fear not, as the 80s synth stuff still keeps coming - this episode's treats include tracks from Michal Turtle, Bill Nelson and Dark Day.
