At this time of year when everyone is sharing how grateful they are, we can respond one of two ways:

* We love and are grateful for the blessings of others. We learn more about our fellow man through their gratitude. It can be a massive shift from the negativity that bombards our social media, and uplift our feeds!

* We might be in a hard space, and seeing the gratitude and blessings that overflow from the lives of others, might just be the thing that puts us over the edge of feeling terrible about our own lives or circumstances. When we are struggling, it can be genuinely hard to see others thriving and living the easy, peaceful, happy lives we long for.

I see both sides. That's why today I want to talk about how we can feel gratitude even in the midst of pretty crummy circumstances. A lot has happened in the 4.5 years I've been podcasting. We've had some in remission from cancer who had cancer return, we had some survive even harder challenges than they spoke of on the show, and some who left this earth shortly after recording. There are a few episodes I wanted to highlight today that are in the archives that you may be interested to go back to. These are tender episodes, serving as a timestamp in their lives. They speak in the present while facing an uncertain future. Even the stories that end tragically, I hope you will see the through line of legacy in their episodes. We don't know how many days we have. We don't know what is around the corner for any of us. We hope and pray for safety and good health.
