Meet Book Confidence Coach  Winsome Duncan.

Winsome Duncan is one woman with a HUGE vision of getting her wider community writing books. She has more than 13 years experience in the book publishing industry. As an author of 11 books, Winsome works tirelessly with budding authors and entrepreneurs to help them realise their book-writing dreams with her publishing house Peaches Publications. Which has a particular focus on BAME stories and voices from people of colour.

Her latest project is a groundbreaking campaign called ‘Look Like Me Book Challenge’ which will support 30 BAME children authors to write one collective book. Since the Guardian newspaper published that a mere 1% of BAME main characters are in children’s book in the UK. This is compared to the 33% of BAME school children in education. Winsome is passionate about changing this narrative and began fund-rasing on her birthday weekend for £10,000 to help raise awareness to have equal visual representation for multicultural children. 

 

Winsome provides free creative writing workshops for writers that are on low budgets as well as her prestigious JUST WRITE IT MASTERCLASSES at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel in Kensington and Chelsea, London.
