Eyes
Never look at me and lie,
Cos eyes are windows to the soul,
And no depth of sea nor distant
sky,
Can ever hide what is not whole.
The eyes will mirror just what you
feel, And tell me if it's not all true,
Like a leaking vessel with a broken seal,
That spills the contents whatever you do.
The eyes they speak but silently,
No words, no sounds, a quiet look,
Will reveal and do but soundlessly,
What’s on the pages of your inner book.
Never mind how adept you are,
At sleight of hand or in your speech,
You'll never get very far,
For lies to your eyes you can never teach.
