The 1960 Formula 1 season sees the debut of some big names of Formula 1, such as a 3 time 500cc motorcycle champion who succesfully transitions to 4 wheels, and an unassuming Scotsman who grew up on a farm, still considered today to be one of the greatest drivers of all time alongside names such as Fangio, Prost, Senna and Schumacher.  We also see the debut of one of the first mid-engined cars which would go on to obliterate its competition and dominate much of the 1960s. The hot weather at Reims for the running of the 1959 French Grand Prix caused tarmac to fly on the track and actual real life punches to fly off it! With the end of the race resembling a hospital zone and one team manager getting more than he ordered at a french restaurant, this race meet delivered plenty of drama not to mention some great racing!
