Facing the End Times with Persevering Faith | Word and Songs - with Sr. Lines Salazar, fsp
Have you ever asked when will the end of the world happen? This is a question people have been trying to answer for a long, long, time. For centuries past, even up to now, many predictions have been made… thanks be to God! The end of the world has not yet come. But for those who died of covid-19 and other sicknesses the end of the world, the end of their life has come to them so to speak. Yet, for us who are still living, the question remains: when will the end of the world be? That’s the big question only God can answer. We know for certain, the end of the world is coming, but none of us have an idea of when it will come, how it will come, and what will happen when it comes… For now, we are called to always be prepared, for truly we do not know when the end of the world is coming, nor the end of our own life.
Since we do not know when the Lord will come, we must be watchful and ready, preparing ourselves for His coming. We need to prepare, not only for the final judgment but especially for our own individual judgment, which we will face at the moment of death. We are preparing for that day even today, as we enter into the process that the Lord has already begun in us. As our faith is tested in the struggles we face each day, we need to pray for the perseverance that will welcome Christ’s victory into our lives. As we continue our faith journey, let us recall Jesus’ hopeful and encouraging words at the end of the Gospel, "not a hair on your head will be destroyed. By your perseverance, you will secure your lives.”
