Medical and health professions education is currently a very wide open door for any health professional who wants to work globally. This is an ideal opportunity for evangelism and discipleship, and may be the most open door in limited access countries. Faculty at any education institution, especially medical and health profession education institutions, have a high level of influence on students, patients and the priorities of the institution, and potentially the health system of a country. Preparing faculty to educate and lead in a manner that honors God can build His Kingdom and truly change the world. However, mentoring and discipleship take time – in fact 15-30 years from entry faculty to major leadership position. This session will discuss opportunities, models and strategies for development of international faculty colleagues in a manner that supports sustainable, effective medical and health education that mentors and disciples for God’s glory.
