Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Let us commit to love as we have been loved by God.

Love doesn't hope others will sin, gossip about sin, or join in sin. It seeks truth, shares God's goodness, and celebrates other's success.

Love doesn't not allow itself to be easily provoked or to keep a record of the failures of others. Love remembers that God forgives and forgets!

When love insists on its own way, it becomes selfish or, even worse, self-seeking and manipulative. But godly love is a love that faces outward as it focuses on goodness, blessings, and joy for others. 

Love is not arrogant or rude, both of which are rooted in selfishness. Instead, love acknowledges that we are not the center of the universe and looks to love others selflessly.

At the core, envy and boasting are questioning God’s plan, His choices, and His goodness through rebellion. Christ-centeredness is the only way to overcome envy or boasting.

Love exercises patience and shows kindness, yet long-suffering love and undeserved kindness that honors God is so hard that we can’t practice it without God’s help.

Jesus told His followers there was one thing they should be known for: their love! Yet, love may be the most overused word and under-lived value today. In this series on love, we will look at 1 Corinthians 13 to see what love means to a Christ-follower and how we can live out God’s love with our actions and attitudes.
