In today’s episode of Faith and Fire, we dive into a transformative conversation with Bambi Schelske from The Backroom Bible Study in Marianna. As someone who has journeyed through various communities, Bambi shares her unique approach to ministry—one that breaks down barriers and meets people where they are. In this post, we’ll explore her story, the challenges she faced, and how her experiences can inspire others in their faith journey.
## About Bambi Schelske
Bambi Schelske, hailing from North Georgia, has been immersed in church culture since childhood with a passion for Christ ingrained in her from a young age. Bambi's calling has taken her through various church environments, leading to her current mission of ministering beyond traditional church walls.
## Answering the Call to Ministry Beyond the Church
Bambi’s ministry journey began with a profound realization of injustice within the church community. She noticed how congregations often cherry-pick which aspects of faith to embrace while neglecting others. This sparked a desire to confront these disparities head-on.
At a pivotal moment, a prophecy directed her to extend her ministry into bars and other unconventional spaces, encouraging her to reach out to those who feel marginalized by traditional church settings.
This shift in focus allowed her to connect with individuals who might otherwise feel shunned by society, including those involved in motorcycle clubs and other non-traditional communities.
