Queer PoliFaith

Faith and Politics, Part I

Listen Later

Welcome back to season 2 of Queer PoliFaith! I am really excited to be back and hope you enjoy the show as it evolves.

Today, I talk a little about how the show came to be and what to expect from Season 2 up until June. Then, we talk about how right-wing politics and faith have affected each other for centuries and how that has morphed into a merging of the two where they are inseparable from each other. We also talk about the effect this merging has on how people interact with the world and how they view people who disagree with them.

The book I mention at the beginning is, Jesus and John Wayne: How White Evangelicals Corrupted a Faith and Fractured a Nation by Kristin Kobes Du Mez. I highly recommend it if you are looking to learn more about this subject. You can get it from Amazon here. You should also be able to find it on other sites if you look. For example, go here to get it from Bookshop.org.

As always, if you enjoy this episode, please rate and review on whatever platform you listen to the podcast on. You can follow the podcast on Instagram or Twitter (@queerpolifaith) and you can email [email protected] if you want to comment or if you have any questions or suggestions.

On February 16th, we will look how left-wing politics and faith interact. Until then, bye!
