Welcome to today's episode of Queer PoliFaith! today, we are going to be talking about 2 guns right cases: US v Hemani and Wolford v Lopez.
But before I talk about the cases, I talk about the importance of voting in general and why Maryland Question 3 must be defeated.
My Substack Post about Question 3: That would be a H-E-L-L to the no from me!
Our next episode will be coming out on November 12th and will be about immigration.

Welcome back to Queer PoliFaith! Today's episode is about the cases invalidating the seditious traitor's tariffs and upholding birthright citizenship. Both cases were extremely long, clocking in at a total of 364 pages. You're welcome.
After explaining the reason for the tardiness for this episode, I start by breaking down how long each decision in each case was. Then I go through each case as normal. But because there were so many written decisions, the breakdown is shorter for each individual one.
Our next episode will be coming out next week, October 29th, and will be about gun rights.

Welcome back to Queer PoliFaith! Today, we are looking at two cases about executive powers. The cases we are looking at today are [Seditious Traitor] v Slaughter and [Seditious Traitor] v Cook.
Today's episode is different than other episodes because we don't spend nearly as much time analyzing the decisions. Instead, we talk a little about 3 prior cases (Myers v. US, Humphrey's Executor, and Seila Law) all of which are very relevant to these cases. We do talk about the decisions and about how they make no sense when you look at them together. This is another example of very obvious results-oriented jurisprudence from this court.
We will be back with the our second week about executive powers on October 15th.

Welcome back to Queer PoliFaith! Today, we are going to be talking about 2 redistricting cases: Louisiana v. Callais and the Alabama redistricting cases. Both cases are horrifying becuase the Court is doing everything it can to entrench the GOP in power.

Welcome back to Queer PoliFaith! Today, we will be talking about 2 criminal justice cases: Chatrie v. US and Landor v Louisiana Department of Corrections.
Chatrie has to do with whether or not police need to get warrants to conduct a geofence search and Landor has to do with whether or not a prisoner can sue officials in the individual capacity if the person's rights are violated. The answer for Landor was unsurprising, but horrifying, particularly after you hear what the prison guards did to him. There is swearing in this part of the episode.
Our next episode will be on September 3 and will be our first of two weeks talking about election cases.

Welcome back to Queer PoliFaith! We are starting our look at Supreme Court cases from the last term. Today, we will be looking at First Choice v. Davenport, a case relating to crisis pregnancy centers and their 1st Amendment rights. This is a short episode because the decision was a short decision (25 pages) and was unanimous with no concurrences or dissents.
Before the case, I talk about how this half of the season will proceed and how it is different from past years. I also spend about 10 minutes or so at the end talking to more moderate Democrats about how they need to "vote blue no matter who".
There is swearing in this episode for those who are sensitive to that sort of thing.
Our next episode, on August 20, will be about 2 criminal justice cases.

Welcome back to Queer PoliFaith! Today's episode is my interview with Vicar Jenny about the same sit in I talked with Pastor Kari about last episode. We also talk a little about what a vicar is and the difference between a deacon and a pastor.
I do want to mention that there are mentions of transphobia and other potentially traumatic behaviors. Please be careful if you are sensitive or if this could be triggering for you. We are as gentle as we can be, but they could be triggering for some people.
