In his book, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, Stephen Covey asserts that most people are deeply scripted in a scarcity mentality. They see life as having only so much - as if there's only one pie out there. If someone were to get a big piece of the pie, there is less for everyone else.
This kind of stinking thinking causes us to hold off, and pull back. It stunts possibility and growth, and negatively affects our performance and peace.
Thank God for the flip side - the abundance mentality that is rooted in a deep sense of security realizing that there's more than enough. It sees possibility, opportunity and opens the door to options, creativity, gratitude, and growth.
This episode explores these two frames of thought and action.
You'll hear common examples of scarce thinking, and how the same situations can be viewed from a frame of abundance.
The episode also includes ways to identify scarcity-based thinking in your life and tips to shut it down.

How do you view, value, and practice rest?
Sabbath rest.
We live in a time where the 'hustle' is hallowed, where life at a crazy busy pace is commonplace, and rest often is reserved for extra times to be fit in. While most realize that rest, Sabbath, margin is important for us physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually - many do not view rest as a needed and valued blessing.
Today's guest Vickie Petz Henderson is a doctor, author, speaker, and podcaster. She's a smart lady and a wise woman, rooted in God and His Word. Vickie also has a powerful story where her life changing trials show God's hand, His goodness, and His glory.
Listen in as Vickie shares from her experience including lessons she explores in her writing, speaking, and teaching ministry on the importance and value of rest.

Society has a confused, conflicted, dramatic relationship with diets.
Each year 45 million US adults go on a diet (and it seems like there are 45 million diets to choose from). 2 of 5 people quit the diet in the first week and only 1 of the 5 last more than a month. In most cases, lost weight is regained, and people proclaim 'Diets don't work!"... Until they put their belief in a diet program or process and start again.
This cycle is a frustration truth for millions of people.
Here's another truth - diet works. And another truth - diet impacts more than 45 million US adults. It affects everyone.
Let's clear some of the clutter and confusion around diet.
In this episode, we discuss foundational principles that can help make diet work for you.
