1 Peter 4:9
The Good Samaritan
We make so many excuses to avoid being hospitable.
Philippians 4:8
Do you love what God loves and hate what God Hayes?
Love what is good.
What someone loves tells you a lot about that person.
Could you write “good” on the things you consume (i.e. books, videos, music, websites, etc.)?
Keeping one’s head about them
If you are a pastor, you have to have common sense.
If you don’t have common sense as a pastor, you hurt your whole congregation.
Having common sense is part of being a good leader.
What is proper, right, and fitting
It is being honorable in everything you do.
James 2:1-4, 8-11
You should always be trying to do what is right and fitting.
Slander/Gossip is not just.
Be above reproach.
If you can’t be trusted in private, you can’t be trusted in public.
We are more concerned about what people think we are than what we actually are.
Learn to become good at confessing sin, not good at hiding it.
What you try to hide, God has a great way of revealing.
A mark of immaturity is the lack of self-control.
Do you choose the right response even when it’s hard?
If you only act right when others are watching, that’s what you are doing, acting.
Galatians 5:23
Self-control is a daily battle/decision.
When you see someone lose self-control, it’s sad.
Are you practicing self-control in every area of your life?
Are there things in your life that, if you were honest between you and God, are totally out of control?
You can control yourself (because you have the Holy Spirit).
What is something that Satan says you can’t control? God says you can. Be Committed to God’s Word
2 Timothy 3:16
We need to hang on hard to God’s Word.
Are you ready to take the stand for God’s Word?
Hold fast to the Faithful Word. You need to be able to say, “Nothing can separate from the Word of God.”
