our focus from Him.

2 Disciplines:

1. You must obediently listen to God’s Word (Ecclesiastes 5:1).

2. You must humbly submit to God’s sovereignty (Ecclesiastes 5:2-7).

Application:

1. Which person in verse 1 best describes you? Someone who, “draws near to listen” or someone who offers “the sacrifice of fools”? Only one leads to a healthy, undivided fear of God.

2. Out of a divided fear do you try to take matters into your own hands only to give up, mess up, or both? Instead submit to God’s sovereign control.
