Some think that praying in the Spirit means speaking in tongues or having special revelation from God. Most people pray, but are they praying in the Spirit? To pray in the Spirit is to realize that we are not alone in our prayers (Rom 8:26). Since we have been filled with the Spirit at our conversion (Eph 5:18) it stands to reason that we should be seeking to pray for those things that the Spirit would be praying for. We pray for things from an eternal perspective and from a Kingdom of God perspective.

Jesus is the Son of God, so why did He have to pray? He prayed so much that His relationship with His Father would continue to flourish.

One does not ask a child why they want to talk to their father nor do we ask friends why they talk to one another so much.

Talking and communicating is a sign of a good and healthy relationship. Like Jesus, we too should want to spend time talking with our heavenly Father.
