We continue in James with verses 13-18 Part Two: we focus again on the process of temptation and how God’s character and God’s salvation make all the difference in overcoming the temptation to sin.

James starts a new topic, from trials to temptations, with the focus on YOU and I taking responsibility for our sins. Don’t blame God for the temptations to sin, look in the mirror to see the person to blame—and understand just how the temptation to sin works. When you understand how temptation begins you will be more prone to resist it.

James wraps up his paragraph on trials. There were great tensions between the poor and the rich in the first century so as James wraps up trials, he describes them as the great equalizer as well as the great endurance test for believers.

WHY ME, James answers the question of trials but calling Christians to pray for Wisdom and trust his loving control

Faithfulness is to be trustworthy when you are not supervised. It’s being trustworthy when your efforts seem unnoticed. Faithfulness can sometimes be the difference between good intentions and actions. Not done perfectly, but attempted prayerfully.

This Sunday, I am so excited about our passage. We we will exposit through James on how Christians live different through their designed trials.
