HUSTLE & HEART, WILL SET APART
CHAMPIONS LEAVE IT ON THE FIELLD!
Romans 8:36-38 Common English Bible (CEB)
37 But in all these things we win a sweeping victory through the one who loved us.
INTRO: WATCHING SPORTS - I don’t know how many times I’ve been watching sports with the love of my life Annette; whether it’s was baseball or football and the game was supposed to be exciting with the anticipation of who’s going to win and I don’t know how many times I’ve heard Annette say "they don’t want it, they’re not hungry, what are they doing get in the game!" why because she felt they were putting their Heart & Soul into it, they were play their best!
What will set the greats apart from the rest? The champions will pul there all and leave it on the field, weather it’s in the boxing ring or on the field.
Today we also have a mandate to give it all to God, to Live and Serve Him, His Purpose, His Mission and to do it with all our heart, strength and mind.
Today what sets us apart as more than conquerors in Christ is that we put our heart and soul into it, that what sets us apart from the rest!
Scriptures on sports to win:
1 Corinthians 9:24-27 NLT - “Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.”
1 Corinthians 9:24-27 MSG “You’ve all been to the stadium and seen the athletes race. Everyone runs; one wins. Run to win. All good athletes train hard. They do it for a gold medal that tarnishes and fades. You’re after one that’s gold eternally. 26,27 - I don’t know about you, but I’m running hard for the finish line. I’m giving it everything I’ve got. No sloppy living for me! I’m staying alert and in top condition. I’m not going to get caught napping, telling everyone else all about it and then missing out myself.”
Scripture on Discipline for the sports:
1 Timothy 4:7-10 CSB. “But have nothing to do with pointless and silly myths. Rather, train yourself in godliness. For the training of the body has limited benefit, but godliness is beneficial in every way, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. This saying is trustworthy and deserves full acceptance. For this reason we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.”
