Our Scripture today comes from the book of Acts. It is the 8th chapter and it is the story of Philip and the eunuch.

Our Scripture today comes from the book of Matthew—Matthew 18:20.

What I would like to do today is start us with a Scripture from Romans chapter 8. It’s verses 14-17.

1 Samuel 14:1-2, 6-13:

One day Jonathan son of Saul said to the young man who carried his armor, “Come, let us go over to the Philistine garrison on the other side.” But he did not tell his father. Saul was staying in the outskirts of Gibeah under the pomegranate tree that is at Migron; the troops that were with him were about six hundred men . . .

Our Scripture today is one of the great stories of Scripture, I think. It’s from Acts chapter 11, and it is the story of the followers of Christ who are first called “Christians.”

We are going to turn to Philippians for our Scripture today, and we are going to read it out of a version called The Message, so I invite you to follow along from Philippians 3:12-14.

Our Scripture today comes from the 29th Chapter of Jeremiah and I invite you to follow along as we read verses 10 through the first part of 14.

Our Scripture lesson for this morning is found in the Book of Acts. For those of you who don’t know, Acts is written by Luke, the same person who wrote the gospel according to Luke. If you think about it, the gospel of Luke is written about Jesus’ life.
