In Ephesians 3, Paul reveals the incredible mystery of the gospel: through Jesus Christ, everyone who believes is invited into God's family as fellow heirs, members of one body, and partakers of His promise. But revelation also brings responsibility. God doesn't reveal His truth simply so we can know more—He calls us to do something with what He has shown us. Through His grace, God has entrusted the Church with making Jesus known to the world, and every believer has a part in that mission. We aren't called merely to attend church but to actively participate in God's work. Thankfully, He doesn't expect us to accomplish this in our own strength. He strengthens us through His Spirit, roots us in Christ's love, gives us one another, and works through us to accomplish far more than we could ask or imagine—all for His glory.

Ephesians 2 paints a dramatic picture of who we were without Christ and who we have become because of Him. Paul begins with the difficult truth that we were spiritually dead in our sins, following the ways of the world and unable to rescue ourselves. Then everything changes with two powerful words: “But God.” Because God is rich in mercy and great in love, He made us alive with Christ, raised us with Him, and gave us a new spiritual position and identity. Paul continues with “But now,” showing that Jesus not only reconciles us to God but also tears down the walls that divide us from one another. Finally, “But you” reminds us that we are no longer outsiders—we belong to God's family and are being built together into a dwelling place for His Spirit. The message of Ephesians 2 is one of incredible hope: our sin may describe where we were, but God's grace determines who we are becoming.

Ephesians 1 reminds us of who we are in Christ—chosen, loved, forgiven, redeemed, and blessed because of what Jesus has done for us. Going back to our first love means remembering the passion and gratitude we had when we first truly understood His grace and choosing to put Jesus back at the center of everything. When we remember whose we are and how deeply we are loved, our hearts are stirred to love Him, follow Him, and live fully for His purpose.

Unity in the church means being all in—committed to God, committed to one another, and willing to work together for the mission He has given us. We cannot allow the enemy to divide us through disagreements, pride, or personal preferences; sometimes unity requires compromise, grace, and choosing the good of the whole family over getting our own way. The church is a family, and strong families stay united, fight for one another instead of against one another, and keep Jesus at the center.
