Faith Community Church Woodstock, GA

2/19/17 - Shane Koehler - True spirituality requires thinking accurately about ourselves. This starts with a deep humility, realizing that our abilities, position, and reputation (or lack thereof) do not represent our importance, but are the gifts of God’s grace given to be used to His purposes.

2/19/17 - Tim Brown - In Paul's opening prayer, he gives thanks to God for the grace of salvation given to them through faith, the love they had for other believers, and the living hope that God promised to them.

2/12/17 - Shane Koehler - In contrast to the widespread idea of worship primarily as an emotional or even a sensory experience, Romans 12 communicates that true worship is the outflow of a mind that is being transformed. God’s Word accomplishes this work by exposing dangerous, worldly thinking and by equipping people to live according to His will.

2/12/17 - Tim Brown - Continued introduction and Paul's Greeting to the Church. The Colossian church was faced with the particular problems of Gnosticism, angel worship, and legalism.

2/5/17 - Tim Brown - Historical, geographical, and theological background and introduction to Paul's letter to the believers in Colossae.

2/5/17 - Shane Koehler - There is a widespread, mistaken view of worship as an activity in which we primarily receive something - whether it’s a feeling, a blessing etc. In contrast, the Biblical concept of worship is, and has always been, about giving to God. Worship is about sacrificing yourself and your goals, possessions, time, and desires, to fulfill God’s will out of a heart of gratitude for His great mercy.

1/29/17 - Shane Koehler - The heart motivation behind true, whole-life, Christian worship is a deep and abiding awareness of, and gratitude for, the saving mercies of God displayed to unworthy sinners in Christ.

1/29/17 - Drew Lawes - The Faithful Shall Be Exalted

Worship, mercy, self-sacrifice

1/22/17 - Shane Koehler - The future, spiritual restoration of Israel is the faithful completion of God's sovereign election of that nation. All along, His plan has been to allow Israel's unbelief in order to bring salvation to the Gentiles, and to use the Gentiles’ belief as a means to restore Israel. All of this serves to demonstrate God’s infinite wisdom and glory in orchestrating and working out so great a plan.
