Faith, Family, Community, and Legacy at Riverstone Logistics with Charlie Workmon

Listen Later

In the sixth and final part of this six-part series on Stories from the River, host Charlie Malouf and good friend Charlie Workmon, President and CEO of Riverstone Logistics, wrap up their conversation. They have a thoughtful conversation about Charlie W's leadership at Riverstone Logistics and his profound personal commitment to faith, community, and family.

Charlie W highlights the importance of the leadership team that he has surrounded himself with and how he has tried to be people focused and conscious in their goals and aspirations. He wants Riverstone to be a Company that invests in the personal and professional growth of its members and maintains a deep focus on long-term relationships. He recognizes several key team members at Riverstone for their significant contributions and career advancements.

As the the discussion moves from people to community involvement, the two discuss Riverstone's role as the Official Logistics Provider for the Charlotte Knights and its involvement in supporting Congregations for Kids, showcasing the company's commitment to supporting vulnerable foster children within their community. Charlie W and his wife Courtney were foster parents who adopted their foster child, so supporting CFK and its efforts are near and dear to their hearts.

The dialogue further explores Charlie Workmon's personal life, his prayer life, and his own faith journey, especially after becoming a parent. He shares insights into his best daily habits, his favorite book, his favorite movie, his biggest mistakes, and reflects on the importance of making considered decisions.

Charlie shares his thoughts on the type of Company that he hopes Riverstone becomes - a platform to bless people in a business world where that is often difficult to do. And he shares his dreams about the type of legacy he hopes he is able to leave behind.

The episode ends as Charlie M reads letters from Riverstone's employees (Extra Milers) describing Charlie W, his leadership, and what he has meant to them and to the Company.
