This podcast focuses on exploring the intricacies of a mother's relationship with adult sons and how much different this dynamic is from our mother/young son relationship. Our boys are near and dear to our hearts both as child and young man. However, as our sons grow into adulthood, our relationships with them can change and evolve. This podcast by Faith-Family-Freedom is Season 1 Episode 2 delves into the murky waters of a mother's relationship with specifically her young adult daughters, although I believe some of the principles would apply to adult sons as well. This can be a very complicated and complex time in the process of "cutting the apron strings" for the mom and allowing the adult daughter the freedom and space to go her own way and potentially hit some landmines along that path. In this podcast, I have tried to discuss my challenges in a humble, self-deprecating manner, because my mistakes are what led me to this place of researching solutions to this conflict. I hope you are able to take some of my suggestions and apply them in your interpersonal relationships with your adult children, and more importantly, I hope that you find that the suggestions are helpful in those relationships and others. As a mother, the empty nest years have been the hardest of my life thus far. I am speaking from a place of failure, humility, and self-deprecation, not from a place of pride. I had to launch into something productive from that place of loneliness and isolation after completing the process of raising our children and watching as they leave the nest. I had to find a purpose to keep going on, keep growing not stagnating. After a lot of research, I found some ways in which, if I follow my own research, I could not just be surviving but thriving through these years. I hope my words can bring some comfort and hope to you as we follow this new chapter in life together. May God go with you and bless you along your journey.
