Two powerful forces exist in our journey of faith - God's will...and our own. When our will exerts authority, it causes our alignment to go out of place. This causes all areas of our lives to suffer imbalance. How do we know what the will of God is? How do we get our lives and wills back under the headship of Christ?

Every one of us who has a vehicle must take the time to periodically take our car, truck, or SUV in for an oil change. Why is this so important? Our vehicles depend on regular service in order to continue to function as they should.

We, too, must allow God to perform regular maintenance on us or else the wear and tear of life will get the best of us.

Time is collapsing upon itself. The world groans for the return of our God and King. Are we living like He could come back at any moment or we living like those in the days of Noah - about our business and life, ignorant to the urgency of the hour?

Our flesh will battle us as long as we live in this physical body. As with football players experiencing the shutdown of their bodies during the 4th quarter, we too must condition ourselves during these end days so that we do not succumb to our fleshly desires, but remain pure before God.

Proverbs says that the power of life and death reside in our tongue or in our speech. How do we speak about ourselves, each other and our situations? Are we speaking scripture and in faith, or are we simply locked into our reality and speaking by what we feel?

In our final episode of our Spiritual Disciplines Series, we examine why we need to go to church...or more accurate - why we need to be the church. The church isn't some institution or club. The church is the body of Christ and the instrument through which Christ works on this planet.

We must reconnect with the lost art of discipleship if we are ever to regain momentum as a church. Discipleship implants God's word in our hearts, and in turn, keeps our defenses up against the enemy and the sin that so easily ensnares.

Tonight, we examine the importance of reading God's word and how it can develop our lives for His glory.

Every fall, football teams across the country prepare for the new season. These athletes commit themselves to preparation so that when the action starts, they will be ready. We, too, need to prepare for our next season of ministry and life. Will we commit ourselves to giving our all on the field, or will be be content to sit in the stands?
