This week, we begin our study in 1 John 1:1-4. Assurance in the Gospel is like oxygen -- we need it all the time. Have you ever choked or have been unable to breathe? When that happens, you become aware of the oxygen that you always need. Similarly, confident assurance in the Gospel is something we always need, but in times of chaos and confusion like these, we become aware of our need for it.
