In this time of uncertainty for many people it is good to have a comprehensive understanding of some basic common sense. We have the promises of God that we can trust in and count on, but common sense tells us that we must meet the qualifications to lay hold on these promises. The good thing is we can all meet those qualifications. We can all lay hold of the promises of God.

When Moses sent the spies out to get a look at the promised land, they came back with an evil report. When the people listened to what they had to say they became filled with "Fear, Doubt & Unbelief". 

As followers of Christ we have to learn to be obedient to what He says for us to do. Whatever it is, if we will follow the instructions to the t, we will see great things. 

If we recognize the authority that Jesus has and the authority that is in the Word of God and if we apply that in the natural realm. If we only understood the authority that Jesus has we would never question His Word again. Are you looking at the Word or are you seeing it?

It's not lasting. It's not substantive. The only way that we can really be "Full of Joy" is through a real and involved relationship with Jesus. Rejection is one of the most painful emotions we will ever have to deal with. No one has never suffered rejection. We all have endured that pain at one time or another in our life but the good thing is this. We don't serve a God who cannot be touched by the feelings of our infirmities. Jesus walked this Earth as a human being and as such suffered rejection. Rejection from those in his hometown as they dismissed him as just Joseph's son. Rejection from the church leadership as they labeled him a heretic and strove to have him killed. Then ultimately rejection from the Father as he turned his back to him as he took on our sin, our disease, our strife and our shame. Jesus cried out from the cross, "My God, My God, Why hast thou forsaken me?" Imagine the heartbreak in that moment. 

The good news? Jesus knows how to minister to the rejects. He went to the place of the rejected and ministered to those who were rejected by the rejects. Elijah was a great prophet of God. He did many great miracles through the course of his life. Even though these statements are true something else is also true. After one of his greatest spiritual accomplishments was the darkest period in his life.

Our problem all too often is that we are looking for all of these things in all the wrong places. The minute we realize who we are and what we are worth to God we can begin to let go of our insecurities.
