Victory implies war. The conflict Christians are in is against worldliness which is sinfulness. The biblical definition of sin is breaking God's law (1 Jn. 3:4). Contrary to mainline religious thinking the Bible says we are under law today (Gal. 6:2; James 1:25; 2 Tim. 2:5). Colossians 2:14 says that Jesus took the law away nailing it to his cross. This refers to the Old Testament only and does not mean that we are not under any law today (Heb. 7:12; 8:7-8; 10:10, 16; Jer. 31:31; James 2:10). Most references to law or "the law" in the New Testament are identifying the Old Testament, these are emphasizing that the law of Moses is finished and we are under a law of grace now. With this background, Gary in this sermon talks about how we can live according to this law and be pleasing to God by faith in him. We hope this sermon will help you on your godly journey.
