“Church ABC’s” is a year-long theme dedicated to understanding God’s calling upon His holy people—what it means to be a vibrant, mission-driven body of faith. We believe that God has called us to know Him and to make Him known to others in the world by living a life of service for the benefit of our neighbors. We get to know Christ through His Word, shared in the church (the “temple”) in worship and Bible study. We get to know Christ through His Word shared around our dinner tables, with family, friends, and neighbors. We make Him known through our lives of service. 

We often perceive the world as divided between the sacred and the secular—holy and divine things on one side; every-day, mundane things on the other. But God joins the ordinary and extraordinary. He makes the most ordinary of substances—water—a life-giving water in baptism. He employs ordinary bread and wine to carry the assurance of forgiveness in the Lord’s Supper. He utilizes simple ink and paper to convey eternal truths on the pages of our Bibles. God’s transformative work does not stop when we leave the church building. Even our everyday routines can be holy moments, activities made extraordinary when we recognize God at work in the simplest of habits.  

Our Epiphany series explores the very ordinary moments—both in our gathered worship and in our more private rhythms of life—that take on holy, extraordinary meaning because God is in them. Especially in this season when we continue with limited in-person gatherings, we examine everyday habits made special by God’s holy work. 

Leviticus Session Two- Study Guide
