“Church ABC’s” is a year-long theme that began last weekend in worship. Our journey is dedicated to understanding God’s calling upon His holy people—what it means to be a vibrant, mission-driven body of faith. We believe that God has called us to know Him and to make Him known to others in the world by living a life of service for the benefit of our neighbors.  

Our first sermon series this fall is entitled “Set Apart for His Glory”. For five weeks, we will explore the attributes of who we are in Christ—the unique characteristics that Jesus gave His called people to enable them to live as God’s “chosen people, a royal priesthood” (1 Peter 2:9). During His ministry on earth, Jesus prayed for His disciples to be protected from the evil one, that “they are not of the world, even as I am not of it” (John 17:16). Though we are IN the world, God intends for us to be unique, countercultural and sanctified by the truth—the Word of God. Even today in our supercharged political season, the Lord expects us to practice kindness, grace and understanding instead of cruelty, vengeance and cynicism. As Christians, we are set apart for His glory!

“Over the years we have been taught many myths.  Most of them are purely harmless (Santa, Easter Bunny, always wear clean underwear in case you are in an accident, etc.).  However, there have been some myths that just aren’t true, that really are harmful – they have robbed us of happiness and led us into guilt and despair.  In this Bible study, we’ll bring God’s truth to the myths about ourselves, about life, the future, and our past.  Why? Because if we don hot have truth in our life we cannot have true joy either.”
