James 1:13-20 | God is our good and gracious Father who desires to give us every good thing. Yet because of our sinfulness we do not understand or appreciate His goodness. Nevertheless even in our weakness of faith our Father still showers us with blessing, and by our baptism names us His children so that we might learn that He is our good and gracious giving Father.

Acts 8:1,26 | During the darkest hours of WWII, Britain faced a critical shortage of silver for the war industries. Churchill asked if there were any possible sources of silver, however remote. "Yes," the answer came, "the churches and cathedrals have silver statues of the saints." "Well," Churchill replied, "Put the saints in circulation."

Colossians 4:7-18 | This is not just a list of random faceless people. These are men and women whose names the Holy Spirit recorded in Scripture. They are people who received praise not from men but from God for the work

they did. They are both an example to us and an encouragement lest

we become disheartened by our own labors for the Lord.

Colossians 4:2-6 | What can you do? Nothing by yourself of course, but through prayer you can arm yourself and prepare asking the Lord for both opportunity and ability to make use of that opportunity to share the Gospel. The time is short the harvest is vast.

| The labor of our hands is a curse that was put on man when Adam sinned. Work is a curse but Children are a blessing.

Colossians 3: | Christ has loved you therefore you love.

Christ has given you peace therefore you live in peace

Christ has given you joy therefore serve him

Colossians 3:1-11 | Pull out evil by the root.

Daily use the power that is ours through our baptism.

Colossians 2:16-23 | For the meaning is: Since righteousness of the heart is a

spiritual matter, [creating life in] hearts, and it is evident

that human traditions do not [create life in] hearts, and are

not effects of the Holy Ghost, as are love to one's neighbor,

chastity, etc., and are not instruments through which God

moves hearts to believe, as are the divinely given Word and

Sacraments, but are usages with regard to matters that pertain in no respect to the heart, which perish with the using, we must not believe that they are necessary for righteousness before God.

Colossians 2:6-15 | In this section Paul compares the fullness we have in Christ with the emptiness of the religions and philosophies of this world.
