Ephesians 5:6-21 | Many people in this world think that you can’t have fun unless you are filled with alcohol. Paul says rather be filled with the Holy Spirit. Then you will have true joy not that which is temporary and empty. Then you will live in light and not darkness. Then you will rejoice with songs of praise to God not the drunken ballads of a bar.

Ephesians 4:17-52 | Those who do not know God, walk in their own ignorance, rejoicing in their filthiness. We who know Christ know better. We ought to imitate Christ with our mind, tongue and hands. YET Christ still loves us as a father loves his children even when they drive him mad with their bickering.

Ephesians 4:1-16 | We forgive one another because we are one. We work together for the benefit of all according to the gifts Christ has given to each. Thus built into Christ we are strong against the deceit of Satan. But where there is disunity we are easily caught in Satan's deceits.

Ephesians 3:14-22 | The riches that Christ has showered upon us are well worth grasping and holding fast. This is not done by our strength but by the power that He gives to us through the Word and the Sacraments.

Ephesians 2:11-22 | We were separated from God and missing out on all these blessings

Christ tore down the wall that separates us from Him and one another

Christ built us up into one body one family in which we now have all the blessings of heaven

Ephesians 1:3-14 | Those who are truly wealthy never need to settle. Spiritually we are wealthy in Christ, yet we so often settle for the lesser things of this world.

Mark 6:1-13 | He calls us all to go because there is so much work to be done. He provides all that we need to do this work. He gives us the power to preach but also to heal. Our reward is the same gift we give to others, the forgiveness of our sins in Him.

Mark 5:21-43 | It may seem as if Jesus is not listening but He comes immediately. It may seem as if we are not worthy but Jesus heals anyway. It may seem as if Jesus isn’t going to answer but Jesus knows the right time. It may seem as if Jesus is too late but nothing can stop Him.

Isaiah 40:9-11 | Our Lord is strong and gentle, humble and exalted, died and lives, He is in all things the Good Shepherd.

Mark 4:26-34 | The power of God is hidden in earthly things that seem to be nothing, the word and the sacraments. These things appear small and pointless, yet the power of God is active through them. These small things will bring people to faith. They will grow people in their faith.
