Jesus teaches that only when we die to ourselves will we truly live. In the first week of the series "Living Through Dying," Pastor Mitch explores what it takes to follow Jesus. Only when we count the cost can we truly follow Jesus with all our lives.

In our sixth and final week of our Doing Time series, we tackle the concept of Building Alignment. Alignment determines direction and destination. Alignment determines impact. Building Alignment is crucial to being able to get an organization where one intends it to go, making sure everyone is on the same page and headed the same direction.

Jesus humbled himself when he came down from heaven to serve us; ultimately by sacrificing his life for us. He invites us to do the same: to humble ourselves and serve others. Jesus teaches that if you take the low place, you will be lifted up.

We live in a cynical world for a reason. People are often much more interested in their own gain and taking care of themselves than they are in doing the right thing. We've all experienced someone trying to take advantage of us. We've all been lied to, and it impacts everything we do: relationships, workplace, even church. Who is Jesus? His is a name that nearly everyone in our culture recognizes. A name we are all familiar with, but do we know who Jesus really is? Our Whoville Christmas Eve service examines Who the bible, and Jesus Himself, say He is.

Today is the second installment of A Whoville Christmas. Last week we talked about some of the characters from the Dr. Seuss classic How The Grinch Stole Christmas, and examined some people from the bible. The Whos down in Whoville were a people of community, celebrating life together whether they have stuff at Christmas or not. They exhibited generosity and shared what they had or didn't have, and they did it with joy.
