In this solo episode, Jerry works through Peter Stoner's classic thought exercise (in Science Speaks) in which he estimates the probability of one man fulfilling eight Old Testament prophecies regarding the Messiah.

Cassian and Jerry discuss her journey to becoming a full-time podcaster, how she often didn't find good answers to her questions in Bible classes, what prompted her to seek out scholars, and how important it is to search for answers to questions to build greater faith, rather than avoiding or ignoring them.

In this solo episode, Jerry shows from Scripture that Jesus Christ claimed to be God, not only in the gospel of John, but in the synoptic gospel accounts as well. This is in response to a point Alex O'Connor recently made (that Jesus didn't claim to be God in the books of Mark, Matthew or Luke) in his critique of Wes Huff's discussion with Joe Rogan.

In this solo episode, Jerry talks about how evolution is religious and the book of Genesis contains science concepts. He also discusses Anil Kanda's interview with Dr. Major Coleman and reacts to Dr. Coleman's stated Four Postulates of Evolution and Four Postulates of Creation.

In this solo episode, Jerry recaps the first 27 episodes of the Faith Science podcast, discusses the current emphasis on apologetics, and relates the three major areas of apologetics to the previous three interviews with Rob Hausman, Jeff Rawls, and Lance Hillsinger.

Robert Hausman is an attorney and advisor who has served in senior positions under the Clinton administration. He has taught courses on public policy, law, and cybersecurity at institutions such as Syracuse University and the University of Maryland. He is currently working on a book about the emerging ability of humans to genetically enhance and modify themselves. He calls this "playing God" and is concerned about the potential conflicts between enhanced and natural individuals.
He and Jerry discussed his background and what led to him writing this book, how the existence of genetic code that can be modified suggests the existence of a God who created the code, and how the Bible has answers to the moral and ethical questions that arise from genetic engineering.

Jeff Rawls is a former environmental scientist and computer engineer. His degrees are in business administration and environmental studies. His new book "God Does Not Need Your Religion to Exist" began as a project to explain Bible narratives that are taught in Sunday School to adults who had no such religious background. He was surprised to learn that Christians were teaching children that narratives such as the Genesis 1 creation account were historical events, rather than parables.
He and Jerry discussed his view that much, if not all, of Genesis should be taken as allegory rather than history. Since Jerry believes in a natural reading of Scripture and a literal interpretation of the Genesis narratives, he disagreed with Jeff's point of view. Jerry showed that one can acknowledge that there are deeper lessons to be learned from the Genesis narratives without rejecting their historicity. Don't miss Jeff's takes on gender reassignment and man-made climate change!

Lance Hillsinger is a former child welfare social worker with a B.A. in psychology and political science from UCLA and a master's in psychology from Vanderbilt University. His first book, In Place of the Parent, is based on his over three decade-long career in social work. His second book, Build a Better Bridge, covers social issues such as affordable housing, truancy, and uninvolved fathers. His most recent book, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John: A Court Investigator Examines the Gospels was released in November 2024.
He and Jerry discussed the Biblical gospel accounts of the life of Christ, and whether the surviving Scriptures have been faithfully preserved and are true to the original history being described. They disagreed on the absolute veracity of the gospel accounts. Lance expressed concern about details in the gospels (such as the purple robe in the events leading to Christ's crucifixion) that seemed implausible. Jerry pointed out that the same imagination used to craft details that disagree with the text could just as easily be used to think of ways that the Scripture is just as accurate in these gospel narratives as it is throughout the Bible.

In this solo episode, I use the genealogies of Genesis 5 and 11, along with a few other Scriptures to come up with a rough, yet Biblically-based, estimate of the age of the Earth.
