For most Christians, heaven is the ultimate destination—where we hope to spend eternity with Jesus, God, and our fellow believers. Revelation 21:4 describes heaven as a place free from death, mourning, crying, and pain. But have you ever considered the profound sacrifice Jesus made by leaving such a perfect place to come to earth?
Jesus was in heaven, devoid of suffering, yet he chose to experience death, mourning, crying, and pain on earth because of His love for us. This ultimate sacrifice is what allows us the hope of joining Him in heaven someday. We often remember Jesus' sacrifice on the cross during the Lord's Supper each Sunday, but we should also reflect on the immense love it took for Him to leave heaven in the first place.
The song "If That Isn't Love" beautifully captures this sentiment, highlighting Jesus' journey from the splendor of heaven to the hill of Golgotha. It’s a powerful reminder of the love that led Jesus to give up heaven for our sake.
As you go about your day, take a moment to thank God for His incredible love and the promise of eternal life with Him. This is the D6 Project Podcast.
