The Good of today is found in what Jesus accomplished for us in digging a grave for the grave. Death has been changed from a final destination to a doorway to a new and abundant life that lasts for all eternity. Because we have hope our grief is even transformed. Because of Sunday today is always Good!

Why are we so resistant to asking for help when we need it? Holy Thursday is the day we remember Jesus’ command to wash each other’s feet, that is to be a person for others yet also develop the humility to allow someone else to wash our feet when needed. There is no shame in asking for help as God wired us to be there for each other!

Uncertainty is part of every day life and certainly part of the journey as a Christian Disciple. Jesus made it clear that uncertainty was part of the life as we are place all our trust for provision and rescue and relief in God’s care. We let go of uncertainty today and embrace the fact that God acts for those who wait for Him (Isaiah 64:4)

How do you grow a grateful heart? Today we endeavor to rid ourselves of any vestige of ungratefulness and strive for a genuine spirit of gratitude in every aspect of our lives.

Today we give the work we do each day a second and deeper look. We want our work life to resemble the creative and self giving efforts that God placed into His creation. Where can we bring new life and fresh love simply by the way we bless our work with s prayer and a desire to share in God’s creative goodness!

How do we eat? Apart and in front of an electronic device? Standing up in the kitchen before rushing off to the next task? Today we want to build in a new spiritual discipline of being intentional about our meals shared together. Jesus is a wonderful model is using the common table as a primary source of connection.

Habits have a unique way of showing the world where our hearts are focused and what we truly value in life. Today’s challenge asks us to cultivate habits of grace that we may show to the world our likeness to Christ.

During these days of being closed up at home with our family we can get stressed and impatient with each other. We want to be in more control of how we speak and make sure we ensure all our words are true, helpful, inspiring, necessary and kind. As Paul says “say only the good things people need to hear, things that will really help them!” Ephesians 4:29

A spirit of envy only leads to an empty hole in my heart. If I can remain grounded in God’s love and all the many ways in which He graces my life then other people’s accomplishments and possessions are easy for me to rejoice in and to have a genuine sense of happiness for them.

Today we strive to let go of self-doubt. Allow God to reveal the gifts He has graced you with, embrace them and live them to the fullest. Let’s not waste a minute feeling deficient because we can’t do everything!
