Game of Thrones has been on our screens for so many years and has become so jaw-droppingly popular that, in many ways, it feels like an old friend.

We’ve grown up with the show. The programme, based on the best-selling books by George RR Martin, has also inspired some serious thinking about the life lessons we can learn from Jon, Dany, Arya, Tyrion and all the other cast as they battle for survival in Westeros.

Game of Thrones dishes out advice based on how the show’s characters learn to face "conflict, build resilience, and improve their long-term vision”.

Recently, I have been particularly intrigued by a phenomenon which has become almost cliché: the Good Girl vs. Bad Girl syndrome. 

In my country most girls were raised to be ‘good‘ and morally upright. But with time, ironically it sort of seems like, bad girls are winning and one would wonder why there ever was a need to be ‘good‘.

The idea of being a good girl was deeply ingrained in us. You were most likely told that crossing your legs properly in public, learning to cook, getting good grades, avoiding boys, dressing decently, going to church (or other religious places), and etc. were what made one a good girl.

For as long as I can remember, it always seems that ‘bad girls‘ in any stage of life seem to be doing better in comparison to the good ones. They learned how to socialize better and, in some cases they grasped sex education faster.
