LARKCAST

Faithless Faithfulness

Listen Later

It's the evening of Jesus' betrayal, and it's dinner time. As this famous last supper comes to an end, Jesus rises to do something unthinkable — he washes the disciple's feet. Even though we know the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve and give his life as a ransom for the world's reconciliation, it seems that the most pious of the bunch thinks that's ridiculous. It's not supposed to be this way, Peter thinks. The roles should be reversed. The servants should serve the master, right? And just like that, the faithfulness of the most pious in the bunch is exposed in the face of this soon-to-be suffering servant.
