Luke 24:1-11
Does the Bible denigrate women? Here are a few verses you might find offensive.
“If a man sells his daughter as a servant, she is not to go free as male servants do” (Exodus 21:7).
Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says (1 Corinthians 14:34).
I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet.
That sounds misogynistic, doesn’t it? But if we keep reading the Bible, we find that’s not the direction it’s heading.
