Did not finish at 22%

I was really disappointed in this book. I absolutely loved Simona's first novel and was excited for this one. Unfortunately it fell flat. Isobel is a sanctimonious do-gooder with mommy issues and Alexander is a jet-set playboy with alcohol issues who decides to change his life on a whim. I was not drawn to either character. They were just plain unlikeable. More importantly, there was no spark between them. I feel that this novel did not have much depth and the romance felt stilted. It was one big yawn. To be fair, Ahrnstedt is a good writer and the surrounding characters are quite interesting. The secondary romance was also well-done. Unfortunately neither is enough to keep reading when the main romance is just going through the motions. I'll wait for the next book in the series.

Disappointed

I also loved the first book and waited for this one. It was a bit ridiculous and even for a romance novel, had my eyes rolling. This author is so talented I felt let down. It has some major plot points that are unclear and left hanging. Also, it is almost that she foced the kinky which made no sense because the heroine was traumartized from a previous relationship with it. Some additional scenes include the very same heroine who is held hostage for 9 days - and beaten - but then only needs bandaids, and a rich and gorgeous playboy who only finally admitted people don't want him for himself . I totally didn't get the guy who supposedly set up the kidnapping didn't??

New author for me. Read the first book and loved it. This one was just as good. Great characters, good writing and a riveting storyline. Highly recommend.
