This southern romance would make a good movie

Cassie is a lonely housewife with a good husband, but a marriage that lacks passion. She finds love in the arms of a stranger working near her property named Paul. The intimate scenes are so tastefully done, there's just enough information to convey the passionate need these two forbidden lovers have for each other.

Eventually the hunger they have for one another turns into love. Even though the affair is wrong, I still found myself rooting for Cassie to be with Paul.

I really enjoyed this book! I thought it was going to be pretty predictable after reading the summary but.. Without giving anything away here I will say, I was wrong! After listening to a few short stories by John I find his writing style to be realistically true to life. So I should have known this book would be as unpredictable as life is. To me It had a Bridges Of Madison County feel which I loved.

I was so immersed in this book I found it hard to pause. The Ga setting really appealed to me because I live 30 minutes outside Atlanta. Not much has changed except the artist's at Little 5 have replaced their paint brushes with tattoo guns lol.

Now I have to talk about the narration... when you're from the south listening to a book that requires a southern accent, it's either hit or miss. I was pleasantly pleased that Susan didn't do the extreme country bumpkin voice or a over the top impression of Scarlet O'Hara to portray the southern accents. Because the narration was done so well, I'll be forgiving about her mispronouncing Valdosta and Albany.

I was given this book in exchange for my unbiased review. I recommend spending a credit on this one, but only if you have a box of Kleenex handy while listening.

this book struck a personal chord

when I received this book I thought it'll be a easy going book but it was much much more and for me someone with the paraplegic disorder from the day I was born this book was personal although I can feel my body I can't walk and I can understand any feeling the main character had in this book every doubt every self-pity feeling I wasn't crying in this book but it was a very emotional book for me

Great Christmas Romance

I found all the information on different types of spinal injuries and what that means physically really interesting. It's worked into the story in a really natural way also giving insight into the potential thought processes of someone newly injured and how they feel as everyone in their life continues moving forwards with life.

The romance between Nick and Carol is beautiful to watch unfolding. Nick is a really interesting contradiction, he looks and acts like a bad boy when he's 'on' but the rest of the time he shows another side of himself. I really liked it when he stopped seeing Carols disability and just saw her for who she is.

Carol's also interesting and she's also putting on an act, one designed to make the people around her think she's doing better emotionally than she is.

The interactions between the two of them range from sweet to funny to hot and it's a lot of fun to listen to.

The narration is excellent, loved the character voices and the overall tone and pace was great.

Great Book!

This was an excellent book! Very well written, an entertaining story that holds your attention until the end. I listened to this book in 2 days, I really enjoyed it and was eager to find out how the story ended. You can listen to this book as a standalone. I hadn't listened to either of the 2 previous books but I was still able to follow Nick and Carols story. I think the story was very relatable and not over exaggerated as some books can be. The events that happened in the book can and do happen in real life.

Mr. Reality or Mr. Real?

This book was about reality TV, but it also had a different meaning to me. Caitlyn was picked to by Daniel to marry him. She agreed. After being chosen these two couldn't see eachother in public nor talk to eachother on any phone other than the ones given to them by the show. Nothing could get out about what happened on the show until the show finished airing. While Caitlyn went home to her apartment in Tuller Springs Co. Daniel went to L.A. and lived the life of a celebrity.

Their time apart made Caitlyn start to ask many questions of her feelings for Daniel. One night she had a small fire in her apartment, which brought a neighbor of hers down, seems he is a volunteer fireman and could smell the smoke. When Caitlyn saw him she was taken aback. Oh oh. Will was an angel? The best looking one she had ever seen, or was that just the marshmallow vodka she had been drinking?

Will spending time with this neighbor and no time with Daniel cause trouble? Could Caitlyn have made a mistake when she said yes to Daniel? Was it too soon and maybe it was due to all the glamour of the show? While reading you will find out. This story was funny, heartwarming and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It shows how someone who was so used to doing what she is suppose to do comes out of her shell when she chooses to do what she wants to do. I have said before I don't like these types of TV shows, but these books have been great. I can't wait for the next two to come out. Thank you Lizzie for some very fun stories about love and so much more.

Really Cute

I really enjoyed this book. I thought the characters were really cute. I enjoy having some of the same characters move through the series.

Fun read

I watch the bachelor and it was neat to read about how they may work it.. The fighting does get viewers as I enjoy how poorly they interact.. Men and women at all indoors and that is what the book showed!

Another fun read!

I love a book that is compelling enough to keep my mind in the clouds.

Wonderful Quick Read

I loved this book. It's a quick read, which only took me about an hour (I am somewhat a speed reader). Ever had that one crush you just couldn't get over? Every time you see him your heart does that little rush of speed, blood rushing through your ears at a deafening rate? That's what this story is with a sweet happy ending!

I may have gotten this book free for a review, but it's an honest one!

Andy & Logan

Not a bad start to a series, but there isnât enough plot or character development to really get you hooked. After reading so many novels with strong female characters, Andyâs personality became a love/hate for me. She could never quite be herself or define herself outside of Logan.

Great Start to the Series

This was a great start to the Archer Family Series. I enjoyed the relationships between the characters. The sexual tension is is expressed with humor and a steamy, yet well written love scene.

The characters were well developed and the storyline was interesting and entertaining. This is a short read and well worth your time. I highly recommend this book.

Ok story

This was a nice book. Not great but nice. The characters were good but the story line was a bit weak . I understand why these books are called fiction. Nobody's gonna forgive someone so easy after the things that were said. Not even for a house on the beach in Hawaii.

Why do so many authors write women with no backbone into their stories? I thought Andy was a coward who didn't stand up for herself. I liked Luke until the end when he was so mean to Andy.

Interesting

I was given a copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads. (Audiobook Version)

I love pretty much anything S.J.D. Peterson writes and this was no exception. I love that her characters don't always make the right choices and they don't always do things perfectly. They are human and make mistakes and it makes the story so captivating.

I listened to the audiobook version of this and the loss of the star comes from that more so than the actual story. At the beginning of the book, I really just had a hard time with the narrator and distinguishing between the main characters. There was also background noise that was quite distracting at times.

Other than that, I love that we got a sweet romance even if it was a bit fast paced for me. It kind of seemed like the relationship went from just two men sleeping together because they can't keep their hands to themselves to someone issuing the L word and I didn't feel like their relationship had really gotten to that point since it seemed like more than 90% of their time together was between the sheets and we didn't see much evolving in the relationship they had.

The plotline was definitely interesting and not expected from how the story started.

Lovely narration, interesting story

The story is solidly written and does have some really strong characters that drive the story at a fairly nice pace.

For me the story lacked that hook that grabs you and makes you want to keep reading. I was just not that invested in the story. It was nice and the writing was good, but I was never captivated.

Audio

I enjoyed Chase Johnsons narration. He definitely does a lot to make this a performance more than merely a narration and he distinguishes all the characters nicely. It was a solid production, though sometimes it felt a little like dinner theatre in that the acting was a bit over the top.

I think listening to this is a great way to experience the story and Id definitely look for this narrator in the future.

What an amazing story! It had me captivated from page 1. 2nd chances are always worth a shot and this is a great 2nd chance. Reagan did an amazing job giving life to the characters and I can't wait to read or listen to the other books in this series.

An Absolutely Great 2nd Chance Story

This was my 1st Rhonda Lee Carver book and it won't be my last! Reagan did an amazing job bring the characters to life. I will definitely be adding Reagan to my top female narrators list.

Loved It!!!

I absolutely loved this story! I always love cowboys and just fell in love with Wes, Sammie and Brie.. I am now going to go back and listen to the previous books in this series.
