These books are amazing in telling the story of the return from exile.  In this, the first in the series, Nathan gives the background on how the 2 tribes of Judah end up in Babylon and how it fits with the bigger picture of the Old Testament.  Our prayer is that God would stir the hearts of those returning to Him during this series.

When Jesus left the Last Supper table and washed the disciples feet he was showing them the nature of a servant - to put the needs of others first.  What does this teach us about our role in serving in the life of the church?

We want all of our small group leaders and groups to be rooted in Jesus, passionate about Jesus, so that we can all grow in Him.  We can’t be built up in Jesus unless we are rooted in His words, unless we are reading and wrestling with the bible.

Part of being built up in Jesus and rooted in Him is allowing Holy Spirit to fill us continually.  Small groups are safe places where we can worship and invite Holy Spirit to speak to us, to minister to us, to challenge us.  They aren’t the only place by any means but they are a great training ground.
