  • The Deliverer Out of Zion
This sermon explores the theological promise that all Israel will be saved, centering on the identity of the Deliverer who will come out of Zion. The speaker connects Romans 11 with numerous Psalms and prophetic books to illustrate that Jesus Christ is the ultimate Deliverer who will return to Jerusalem, specifically standing on the Mount of Olives, to establish His kingdom. The message contrasts the current age of grace, where God does not impute sin, with the future period of judgment and the Great Tribulation, emphasizing that the church is secure in heavenly places while Israel awaits national restoration. A significant portion of the discourse is dedicated to warning against false prophets and self-appointed end-times predictors who have historically failed to correctly identify the timing of Christ's return. The sermon concludes by urging believers to rely solely on the Word of God and the finished work of Christ at Calvary, rather than engaging in speculative date-setting or trusting in human interpretations of signs.

  • Discerning The Lord's Word
This sermon examines the confrontation between Jeremiah and the prophet Hananiah in Jeremiah 28, highlighting the danger of popular but false messages that contradict God's revealed will. It argues that Hananiah's promise of immediate relief from Babylonian rule was a lie that removed the necessary discipline of exile, which God intended to use for the spiritual correction and humility of His people. The text emphasizes that true prophecy is not defined by pleasant content but by fidelity to the Word of God, even when it brings judgment or difficult truths. The preacher warns against leaders who seek popularity over truth, noting that such compromise leaves the congregation with false hope rather than genuine repentance. Ultimately, the sermon calls for a commitment to the living Word as the sole standard for discerning truth and guiding the life of the church.

  • I Have Told You Beforehand
In Matthew 24:15–28, Jesus warns His disciples of a coming time of unprecedented tribulation, deception, and distress. Yet amid these sobering warnings, Christ reminds His followers that He has told them these things beforehand. In this sermon, Pastor Todd Fletcher examines Jesus' teaching concerning the abomination of desolation, the great tribulation, the rise of false christs and false prophets, and the unmistakable nature of Christ's return. Through it all, we are reminded that God's sovereign purposes will stand, His Word can be trusted, and His people must remain watchful and discerning. How should believers understand these prophetic warnings? And how does knowing what Christ has revealed prepare us to stand firm in the face of deception and uncertainty?

  • Amos: The Fruit Inspector
In this overview of Amos, part of his Sunday evening series through the Minor Prophets, Charles Sebold introduces the herdsman and dresser of sycamore figs from Tekoa as "the fruit inspector": a poor migrant laborer from Judah whom the LORD took and sent north to Bethel around 760 to 750 BC, just before Assyria swept the northern kingdom away. Picking up Joel's line, "The LORD roars from Zion," Amos asks whether Israel really wants the Day of the LORD. He springs a trap. Israel would gladly say amen as Damascus, Gaza, Tyre, Edom, Ammon, Moab, and even Judah are judged, but the longest charge lands on Israel, and it is not for war crimes. It is for everyday business: selling the needy for a pair of sandals, sleeping on garments taken in pledge, cheating with false weights. "You only have I known of all the families of the earth; therefore I will punish you." With biting sarcasm Amos invites them to Bethel to transgress, and God declares that He hates their feasts and wants justice to roll down like waters. Five visions trace the end: Amos intercedes and God relents at the locusts and the fire, but at the plumb line he has nothing left to say. Then Amaziah the priest sends the praying prophet home, and Israel is left with a famine of hearing the words of the LORD. Yet the book closes in hope, as God promises to raise up the fallen booth of David, a promise James cites in Acts 15 as Gentiles are gathered under David's greater Son. The God who judges His people more strictly also keeps His promises to them. What does it look like when a church keeps its worship careful and its weekday business careless?

  • Israel Attacked by Hamas: 3 Years Later
Following the dictates of the Quran such as 5:51 – "O you who have believed, do not take the Jews and Nasara (Christians) as friends." There's 9:73: "O you prophet, perform jihad against the infidels and the hypocrites, and be harsh with them. And their abode will be hell, and evil is the final place." There's 47:4: "So when you meet those who became infidels, so strike the necks until you have made a great slaughter among them." Lastly, there's 25:52: "So do not obey the infidels, and perform jihad against them with a big jihad." That's exactly what took place, three years ago today, when the Islamic terrorist group Hamas launched the largest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust. On that day nearly 1,200 Israelis were killed and 251 people taken hostage. As Jihad Watch pointed out, "Terrorists burned people and pets alive, children among them, looted homes, set houses and neighborhoods on fire, took civilians and bodies and filmed it. One terrorist called his parents from a victim's phone and said he had butchered ten Jews, including the woman whose phone he had taken and her husband." The article continued, "...they shot civilians on the roads, in shelters and at intersections then drove on to the communities. They shot the old, fathers and mothers with children, and teenagers. They also killed whoever was in the way, including foreign workers." The attacks against Israel continue…

  • Unlocking the Hebraic Idioms of the Bible: Episode 37
In this study of Hebrew idioms and biblical prophecy, Pastor Brandon Holthaus examines Daniel chapters 11 and 12, revealing the meaning behind several prophetic expressions that are often misunderstood. What does Daniel mean by the "desire of women" and the "god of fortresses"? How will the Antichrist gain power, and what does it mean for the wise to shine like stars forever? Pastor Brandon explores the Antichrist's opposition to the Messiah, Satan's influence over earthly power, and the importance of understanding Scripture in its proper Jewish and prophetic context. He also examines the dangers of pursuing control instead of trusting God and the eternal rewards promised to those who demonstrate wisdom and lead others to righteousness. Key Scriptures: Daniel 11:36–39, Daniel 12:3, Genesis 3:15, Revelation 13, and Zechariah 4:6. Learn more at https://rockharborchurch.net #Daniel11 #Daniel12 #BibleProphecy #HebrewIdioms #Antichrist

  • Jesus the Prophet
The sermon examines the role of biblical prophets and contrasts their limitations with the supremacy of Jesus Christ, who is identified as the ultimate and perfect prophet. It challenges modern claims of false prophecy by emphasizing that true revelation must align with Scripture, citing Deuteronomy and 1 Corinthians to warn against unauthorized words. The central argument posits that Jesus, as the Creator and the Word, perfectly fulfilled all prophetic expectations regarding His death, burial, and resurrection. The message concludes with an urgent pastoral appeal for listeners to trust in Christ's completed work and be prepared for His return, rather than relying on speculative end-times knowledge or false spiritual leaders.

  • The Spirit of Truth
John urges believers not to accept every spiritual claim. We must first test the spirits by whether they confess Jesus Christ truly came in the flesh. False teachers reject apostolic truth about Christ. Those who belong to God listen to the apostles' teaching. We consider 5 tests that John gives to help Christians discern truth from error. We are assured the Spirit of God is greater than the spirit of error, and truth can be recognized when hearing God's Word.
