And it is not enough to empty your mind of bad thoughts. You have to fill it with God thoughts. God did not give you a spirit of fear.

If a man in a film can speak words and people fall, what do you think your words are doing to your own life? You are made in the image of a God who spoke creation into being — so your mouth is not decoration.

Everything you are today is a result of the words you spoke yesterday; everything you will see tomorrow is a function of the words you speak today. Ten of the twelve spies talked themselves out of the land. Caleb talked himself into a mountain.

Samuel ministered as a child. David plodded from 17 to 30. Anna was prophesying in her 80s. There is no midlife crisis — there is midlife continuity. The enemy steals seasons by convincing you they don’t matter.

Read Psalm 91 to the end and you find the hinge: because he has set his love upon me. Every promise in the chapter — including long life — hangs on that one condition.

A divided heart is a draining heart. Religion asks what must I do? Love asks how can I please the One who loves me? Willpower lasts a while; only love lasts a lifetime.

Genesis 5 is the Bible’s first obituary column: eight generations, eight funerals. Then one man walked with God and simply did not die.

The miracle of Enoch’s life was not drama — it was consistency. Nobody drifts into intimacy. The Kenyans who win the long distances are not sprinting; mountain trips and Daniel fasts are sprints, the daily walk is the marathon.

Nothing is withdrawn from service before its useful life is finished — and God does not retire you early either. He preserves your days so you can complete the assignment He gave you.

Caleb was 85 and asking for a mountain. Paul finished his course. Jesus did not die young; He died fulfilled. Longevity is not the goal — a finished assignment is.
