THE LIE THAT KEEPS YOU STUCK
Sometimes the most powerful lie is the one that has been repeated for so long it begins to sound like your own voice.
“You’ll never change.”
“You are permanently damaged by your past.”
“God is disappointed in you.”
“This situation will never get better.”
In John 5, Jesus meets a man who had been lying beside the Pool of Bethesda for 38 years. His physical condition had also shaped his identity, expectations, and understanding of the future. Even with Jesus standing directly in front of him, the man could only explain why change seemed impossible.
In this episode, Pastors David and Doris Flores have an honest conversation about shame, disappointment, painful diagnoses, rejection, spiritual resistance, and the lies that keep people from moving forward. They explore what happens when God changes your condition, but your mind is still accustomed to living beside the pool.
The miracle may happen in a moment. Learning to live as someone who has been healed, forgiven, and set free often requires the continuing renewal of the mind.
In this episode:
• How shame causes people to hide what they are experiencing
• Why difficult circumstances are not proof that God has abandoned you
• The danger of allowing a wound to become your identity
• Why healing and renewed thinking must work together
• How old lies attempt to pull us back into former patterns
• The importance of seeking help and taking practical action while believing God
• Why your history does not have to determine your future
