Romans 12:9–10 calls the church to sincere, holy, family-like, and humble love. This passage teaches us that gospel mercy creates genuine Christian affection: hating evil, clinging to good, honoring others, and living as God's covenant household. It urges repentance from hypocrisy and a renewed, Christ-shaped love in the church.

John 8 indicates how the lost are in the family of God. But the recipients of John's letter were Sons of the Lord.

The trap is now set for the evil tyrants. But before anything further happens, Elijah is told to seek out his replacement; Elisha the son of Shaphat. This is the Thirty Eighth Sermon in the series The Kingdom Divided; and exposition on First Book of the Kings.
