Summary
Chairman Andy Jervis and marketing manager Jenny Jervis open this first episode by welcoming Sapphire, the newest member of the Chesterton House team, and discuss why we're launching a new podcast and what it will contain.
April 2027 brings big changes to pensions and inheritance tax, and many of our clients will feel the impact. Jenny sat down with financial planner Sam Harrington to get a clear picture of what's changing and what you can do about it now.
Later, Andy and Jenny break down how the layers of tax involved could mean your pension fund being taxed at up to 90% in some cases, a number worth knowing before your circumstances change.
In July, the Chesterton House Foundation awarded a £1,000 grant to Equality Action. Andy and Jenny visited the charity's offices on Nottingham Road in Loughborough to meet chief executive Varsha Parmar, vice chair Geetha Bala, NHS talking therapies project officer Zee Sattar, and EmpowHer project officer Minara Rahman. They talked about the work Equality Action does in local communities, how it started, and how it's changed since then. Listen to their conversation to learn more about this longstanding and effective charity.
One way to support the Foundation is by going on holiday! Andy and Jenny explain Riviera Travel's Affinity Scheme and how it works.
