Kindness is a gift🎁. Having the faith and backing of our friends is a gift. But the greatest gift of all is Jesus humbling himself to come live among us, withstand torture and death on a cross for US, and then be resurrected in all His glory. There is a distinct difference between being humble about these gifts, and feeling unworthy or worthless to receive them...Would you open yourself up to receive the gift of Christ? How beautiful is it to know that Jesus knows our grief and has compassion for us? That even in the midst of our darkest moments, the God who created the universe desires a personal relationship with us? And, how sweet is it to know that even superheroes, and Jesus, grieve? 🌟“Your strength has returned, but the weakness still remains!”🌟 I get chills every time I watch the season finale for the Obi Wan series because of this quote and scene. There is so much behind it—so many memories, emotions, and you can see Hayden and Ewan playing that out sooooo well. I’ve been wanting to do a devo on this episode for SO LONG! 🌟 “Let the past die.” “You’re the only one we trust.” “Please, old friend. One last fight.”🌟  Do you believe God can use you, mistakes, strengths, weaknesses, failures, and all? Do you forgive yourself through the blame and shame you’ve heaped onto yourself? Do you believe God knows you enough to stay with you? Do you trust that God's grace can be sufficient? These last few episodes of “Obi-Wan Kenobi” have inspired me to dive back into the story of the burning bush and Moses, and how God called him into a great mission to lead his people out of Egypt, and the reluctancy Moses showed in that situation. I think Kenobi hesitates in a similar fashion when Bail Organa comes to him to help in the search for Leia. What would you do—step out in faith, or cling to a shadow of who you could be in God?🙏🏼

My good friend Christopher Williams​ invited me to come speak to his community group Uncommon last week, and the theme I felt like God was leading me into was discussing grief. How we go through it, how I personally went through it over this past year with the death of my dad, and where Jesus is in our grief as well as how He grieves with us. I hope this longer devotional/sermon conversation can be encouraging to you!

“Know I am here because you are here.” I love this quote from Yoda to Kanan Jarrus in episode 110 of #StarWarsRebels because it’s something I feel like I could hear Jesus saying to us. And the beautiful thing is, Jesus DID come here, to Earth, because we were here and we needed rescuing. He endured the most horrible torture and death so that we could have freedom—what greater love is there? Praise God that He meets us where we are. We probably won’t stay there, as God continues to work in us. 😉 But we can rest in knowing we are part of His kingdom!

It’s Holy Thursday! As we go through Holy Week, listen in to how Natasha’s sacrifice in Endgame points us to the EVEN GREATER sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Her death helped bring back millions from the blip, but Jesus’ death AND resurrection saved us all from eternal death and separation from God, if only we would believe in Him and repent. Jesus humbled himself to come down and live as a human among us, to get right to the moment of his sacrifice: His death and resurrection to save us. While not Jesus, Natasha Romanoff also worked for years to get right to the moment where the Avengers might succeed in defeating Thanos once and for all.
