Join us as John and David wrap up the Romans series. Plus, we share who we wanted to be when we were younger. We also talk about a subject we weren't able to address in the Romans series: what about the reality of power dynamics between people groups? How does the letter of Romans apply? And what does this mean for church leadership?

Ming-Cheng Lo, Professor of Sociology at UC Davis, shares her story of becoming a follower of Jesus, her loss of her twins, doubt and anger toward God, and the church's role in her healing.

What do Davis, InterVarsity, Sacramento, the Roundhouse on Chestnut, Odd Fellows Hall downtown, land purchase, and an eye doctor have in common?

The answer: the founding of University Covenant Church. Join us for an interview with Rick Lindholtz, who grew up at UCC when his parents and others started University Covenant Church.

Diving deeper into Romans 15, we look at the Apostle Paul's clear sense of call and the delaying of his visit to Rome. Why? Because he know God's call on his life and was able to say no or not yet to certain opportunities. How do we figure out the same thing?

This week David Ding and John Fanous dive into Romans 13:1-7 and talk about tough questions regarding obeying authorities and the Russia/Ukraine conflict. Just for fun, John shares a true personal story about bats and cats...

This week the excellent Bronwyn Murphy joins us to reflect on her sermon from Romans 12:17-21. And we deal with one of the most remarkable teachings to those who follow Jesus -- "Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."

David Ding and John Fanous have a blast on this podcast! Hear more about our dreams for our church family, COVID-19 masking, competing passions within our church, Pastor John's personal story with this, and David's tips on discovering your passions.

* David Ding refers to the book Seven Desires in this podcast.

This week we get to interview Susan Cosio, our Pastor of Spiritual Formation! And wow! We go deep with how God uses groups to form our character and renew our minds. Plus, we get to talk about Disneyland.
